Password Strength Analyzer

Most passwords can be cracked in seconds using modern brute-force techniques. This tool analyzes the entropy and complexity of your password to estimate how long it would take a hacker to break it. Note: Your password never leaves your browser.

How It Works

Password strength is measured in 'bits of entropy.' Each additional character and character type (uppercase, number, symbol) exponentially increases the difficulty of a brute-force attack.

The Formula

Entropy = log2(CharacterPool^Length). A pool of 94 characters (full keyboard) provides much higher security than 26 (lowercase only).

FAQ

What is a secure entropy level?
Aim for at least 60 bits for standard accounts and 80+ bits for critical accounts like email or banking.
